Strudel italian cake recipe
Strudel is a simple and delicious italian cake that we can prepare in no time. Flag of Trentino Alto Adige in reality boasts Turkish origin.
250 gr. OO flour
20 gr tablespoons of vegetable oil
a pinch of salt
150 cc of warm water
For the filling:
1.5 kg of apples yellow skin or yellow-red
2 tablespoons rum
60 grams of raisins
120 grams of sugar
100 grams of bread crumbs
60 grams of butter
Put the flour in a bowl, add the egg, a pinch of salt, oil, and finally the warm water. Knead the dough with your fingers on a shelf that you’ll floured surface until no longer be sticky. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling and turn the oven to 180 °
Soak the raisins. In a pan fry the breadcrumbs in the butter that you melted inside. Cut the apples and place in a bowl with 60g of sugar, rum and lemon juice. Meanwhile, roll out the dough and make a thin sheet. At this point you spread out the breadcrumbs that you had browned, apples after they have been drained, the remaining sugar, jam, cinnamon, lemon and raisins that you have dried. Roll up dough and filling, closing the ends. Brush with egg yolk.
Bake for about 45 minutes
Serve warm or after it is coated with powdered sugar.
